A LITTLE BIT OF CLEVER THINKING GOES A LONG WAY
A large New Zealand Contractor approached Kerrick with a need for a water blasting system to carry out the cleaning of penstocks at power stations. The client wanted the benefits of a trailer mounted pressure cleaner i.e. it needed to be towable, with a large water tank and hose reels etc. However they also wanted the machine to be compact and portable to access confined or tricky areas where a trailer mounted system wouldn’t be viable.
The solution Kerrick came up with was to build two skid mounted water blasters that could be easily coupled and removed from a custom built galvanized trailer. Features of the unit included a large 450 litre tank, petrol powered feed pump and two hose reels each fitted with 50metres of high pressure hose.
Each skid mounted pressure cleaner contains its own battery and fuel tank so it can be used away from the trailer whilst being fed from the tank via the on board feed pump. Two pressure cleaners means two operators can carry out work at the same time consequently improving time efficiencies. Each pressure cleaner produces a maximum of 5000psi at 23l/m.
