Custom Motorbodies are long standing motor body builders that provide quality cost effective solutions to New Zealand’s road transport industry. Their high standards for accuracy and presentation resulted in them approaching Kerrick with a request for a custom built pressure cleaning system that could be fitted to one of their client’s trucks.
Whilst building pressure cleaners and truck mounting them is run of the mill for Kerrick, what made this build unusual was the need for the pressure cleaner to be unobtrusive and allow maximum usage of the truck’s tray for other work. As a result the pressure cleaner was mounted between the truck and it’s tray in a retractable skid set up.
The motor/pump unit was mounted on retractable slide rails allowing the unit to be tucked away when not in operation. This unit comprised a Honda, petrol powered motor coupled to a high pressure Hawk pump producing 3000psi @ 15l/m. In keeping with the unobtrusive, compact nature of the build the pressure cleaner was fitted with a fold down hose reel supporting 50m of high pressure hose. The truck also had a large water tank on board for use in situations where access to water is limited.
The final result was one that both Kerrick and Custom Motorbodies could be proud of. The client’s truck housed a sleek, compact pressure cleaner that looked good, maximized available space and most importantly washed down gear and equipment efficiently.
