HOW TO PICK UP CONCRETE SLURRY - THE SOLUTION THAT WILL MAKE YOUR LIFE EASIER!
Kerrick was recently asked to provide a solution for a concrete cutting operator who was trying to win a highly competitive contract for a major job. The contract stipulated that between 600-1000 litres of concrete slurry needed to be removed from site per day (after cutting).
Removing concrete slurry in such large amounts, on a daily basis required specialist machinery that could process the slurry, operate over the long periods of time and contain huge amounts of waste. Consequently the contractor approached Kerrick and asked for assistance with finding a solution, due to our extensive range of products and experience working in specialized fields.
Concrete slurry has high pH levels and can corrode and block pipes and as per environmental requirements cannot be discharged to storm water drains. In addition it’s part solid/part liquid nature make picking it up from a job site and containing it for proper disposal somewhat of a difficult task, particularly when done on a large scale.
After assessing the contractor’s requirement, the Kerrick team recommended the contractor use a number of 3 motor vacuum heads and transformers that could be fitted to an endless supply of 205 litre drums. When a drum reaches capacity operators simply need to unclip the motor head and attach it to a new drum – thereby containing the slurry and quickly and efficiently getting the work done.
The contractor has since won this contract and is successfully using the concrete slurry vacuuming system that he purchased from Kerrick.
